What is the Academy?

  • The Mt. SAC Early College Academy is a small high school with an innovative design blending high school in college in a rigorous, yet supportive program, compressing the time needed to complete a high school diploma and adding up to 2 years of transferable general education college credits.
  • This four-year college preparatory education program is strategically designed to fulfill the "A-G" college admission requirements, prepare students for the college transition, and make students competitively eligible for admission to UC, Cal State, and other institutions of higher education.

How does it work?

  • College courses are offered during the school day, taught by college instructors. Students receive college credit through dual enrollment with Mt. SAC College.
  • Students take both semester- and year-long courses.
  • High school and college classes are taught in a 90-minute block format Monday-Thursday. All classes meet on Fridays.
  • Students earn transferable college credit while in high school and will be prepared to pursue post-secondary opportunities while immersed in a supportive environment of high expectations, respect, and academic excellence.
